Coming Soon: HB1163 Firearms Safety Training
Sporting Systems is preparing a new online firearms safety training course in response to Washington State’s upcoming HB1163 requirements.
The new course will be offered separately from our existing HB1143/I-1639 training, which will remain available during the transition period. Unlike our current free course, the new HB1163 course will have a fee due to the expanded training requirements.
HB1163 includes a separate live-fire training requirement. Sporting Systems will provide the online classroom portion of the course, while live-fire training must be completed separately with an instructor certified under the state’s requirements.
We are awaiting further guidance from the Washington State Patrol (WSP) regarding curriculum approval, instructor certification, and required documentation. Additional details will be shared as that guidance becomes available.
The new course is coming soon.
